Menchanbele Is an ideal spot for a one day outing from Bangalore. The major attractions include The dam itself. (Even thought the dam is not that big, it is beautiful ), and the surroundings. For those who love adventure there are many small hills to try their mountaineering capability. I have spend about a few hours climbing the rocks. Menchanbele is about 36 km from Bangalore  by road and about 8 km from the Big Banyan Tree. Manchinabele Dam is situated in the midst of hills and forests at the foot of the Savan durga (The larges monolith of Asia).

The entire Menchan bele is a part of the Bangalore Rural District, where farming still constitute a major potion of the Economy. Most of the people here are villagers and During the dry season the dam water will level will go down and it will be very beautiful to See.

HOW TO REACH MENCHANBELE DAM (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE MAP)

Route: Proceed from the Big Banyan Tree via Chikkappa Circle. This reservoir and dam is about 15 km from the tree. You can move aside the dam waters to reach a lovely flat grass land. There are ruins of many temples too. If you move again further you will rech another dam ad finally Madadi road from Bangalore. This is another route to bangalore but the condition of the road is not that good.

Reaching Big Banyan Tree : Move along the Mysore Road (Dont enter the Nice Road) . You can reach Mysore road from Any were in Bangalore town. After RV dental College , Make a right turn.
