THE SUN TEMPLE KONARK

Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century Sun Temple (also known as the Black Pagoda), at Konark, in Orissa. It was constructed from oxidizing and weathered ferruginous sandstone by King Narasimhadeva I (1236-1264 CE) of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty. The temple is one of the most well renowned temples in India and is a World Heritage Site.

HOW TO REACH KONARK
I reached Bhubaneswar railway station Early Morning. The town was silent and a few tea shops were open near the Bus Stand (In front of the Orrisa Museum). There were buses to Puri and Konark (Morning 6 and 6:10). I got in the bus and moved for almost 1.5 hours and reached Konark. The Konark town was a small town with a circular structure (circling the sun temple). See map below for the details on the Places.

SIGHTS>SUN TEMPLE
Ofcourse Sun temple is the most Known Place at the Konark. The temple is in teh shape of a Chariot and ASI made a garden around the temple. You can still see the remains of the Banyan tree around the temple, which swallowed the temple for a long time. You can move around the temple and still see the stones which were used to make the temple lying al around. Photographs around Konark
