THE BARREN BAKER HILLS (ALSO CALLED TRISHANKU HILLS)

Trishanku Hills

The Baker Hills is about 5 kilometers away from Peermade (3 Kilometer along a shortcut) and 1 Km away from Kuttikanam.

The rolling Barren Hill and gentle breeze makes the spot an ideal place. It is a good place to conduct short treks. The place is surrounded by Barren Hills. If you look at the west side you can see the road from Mundakayam. On clear days the roads are visible till Peruvandanam. You can also have a good view of The Peru Hills , The Palace, and the crystal stream. On clear sunny days you can see even the light house at Alapuzha and the sea.

Mostly the place is clouded with thick mist and during winter the wind is so strong. There itself you can see large flat lands covered by green grass grow like carpets. You can have a breathtaking view of the sunrise and sunset from the hills.

Near to the hills there is a stream which flows through the side of the hills. It has clear water. On some places of the stream you can see trenches and tunnels, which are having a length of a few meters. These were formed by the slow grinding action os the stones which are carried by the water through soft rocks.
